In addition to the state tax filing and payment update we sent out earlier in the week, we would like to communicate the important news announced today about the federal tax filing relief due to the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced new relief measures that are effective immediately. The IRS moved the national income tax filing day ahead to July 15 for Americans to send in their returns. This also includes any payments due on that day. All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties.

Please contact your Scott and Company tax professional with any questions you have about your return. We will be sure to keep you apprised of any new updates at both the federal and state levels.

Sincerely,

Scott and Company LLC
